The clinical manifestations of temporal lobes neurodegeneration greatly vary depending on the extent and lateralization of damage within and between the two hemispheres. However, the various symptoms observed can be traced back to one cardinal phenomenon: while perceptual processing is spared, proper identification of a variety of stimuli is gradually worn away.
